In Lusail, a significant meeting took place between Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, and Nguyen Huy Hiep, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar. The discussion centered on boosting economic and trade ties between Qatar and Vietnam, with an emphasis on fostering cooperation between private sector companies from both nations. The leaders explored avenues for new investments and identified key sectors that could benefit from future collaborations.

Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting stronger partnerships and joint investment projects with Vietnamese businesses. He acknowledged Vietnam’s robust economic growth and the potential it holds for mutual benefits. On his part, Ambassador Hiep underscored Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen its economic cooperation with Qatar. He pointed out that bilateral trade between the two countries surpassed $860 million in 2024, reflecting a $100 million increase from the previous year.

The ambassador encouraged Qatari investors to seize opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, food processing, and halal products. He stressed the vital role Qatar Chamber could play in introducing Vietnamese agricultural and halal goods to the Qatari market, thus enhancing trade connectivity between the two regions.

Furthering this spirit of collaboration, the Vietnamese ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026, slated for next September in Ho Chi Minh City. This annual event is a prominent global trade exhibition focusing on sourcing, exports, and supply chain partnerships. It attracts international companies and industry leaders across diverse sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
