Riyadh Metro has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s longest driverless metro system, spanning 176 kilometers. The achievement marks a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s advancement toward modern, sustainable transportation.
The metro network consists of six fully integrated lines and 85 stations, all operating through an automated system managed by advanced control centers. This driverless model ensures high levels of precision, safety, and efficiency while supporting the city’s goal of reducing traffic congestion.
Designed to enhance urban mobility, the metro forms a central part of Riyadh’s wider public transport system, which also includes an extensive bus network. Together, these services contribute to economic growth, urban development, and improved quality of life for residents.
