Qatar recently joined the 41st Meeting of the Directors General of Passports from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which took place at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The gathering aimed to discuss the future of passport services within the region.
Heading the Qatari delegation was Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Ateeq Al Dosari, who holds the position of Director General of Passports. He was accompanied by officials from all GCC member states, who collectively explored strategies for modernizing passport operations. The meeting focused on enhancing public service delivery and fostering stronger coordination and integration among the countries involved.
During the meeting, representatives from the member states deliberated on various approaches to improve the efficiency of passport and border management systems. This included discussions on adopting new technologies and practices to streamline processes and ensure a seamless experience for citizens and travelers across the GCC region.
As the meeting drew to a close, a series of recommendations was adopted. These recommendations are expected to enhance cooperative efforts and improve the overall efficiency of passport and border management services among GCC countries. By implementing these measures, the member states aim to provide better services while strengthening their collaborative ties.
