PM Talks Trade and Economic Cooperation with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt Leaders

On Monday, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, engaged in a series of diplomatic discussions to bolster regional stability and strengthen bilateral ties. He received a phone call from Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, where the two leaders delved into enhancing their countries’ relationship and exchanged views on recent regional developments. The conversation also highlighted Pakistan’s active mediation efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions to foster security and stability.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar’s gratitude for Pakistan’s role, alongside other involved parties, in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. He underscored Qatar’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s peaceful mediation initiatives, emphasizing the necessity for all concerned parties to participate in these efforts to pave the way for negotiations that would secure lasting peace in the region.

The Prime Minister also conversed with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud. Their discussion centered on fortifying bilateral relations and examining the latest developments in the region, particularly concerning the United States-Iran ceasefire and efforts to de-escalate tensions. Sheikh Mohammed reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of a recent drone attack on Saudi Arabia, voicing full solidarity with Saudi measures to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and the well-being of its citizens and residents. He highlighted the importance of engaging in mediation efforts to address the crisis’s root causes through peaceful dialogue, ultimately aiming for a sustainable resolution that prevents further escalation.

In a separate conversation, Sheikh Mohammed spoke with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. They discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and reviewed developments pertaining to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as ongoing efforts to reduce tensions in the region. During this call, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of all parties positively responding to mediation efforts, aiming to resolve the crisis’s underlying issues through peaceful means and dialogue, thereby achieving a sustainable agreement that averts renewed conflict.
